With many of our 'regulars' having ridden the Tour du Morvan numerous times, the pressure has been on for a while now to come up with a different route in this fantastic region. Finally, after months of research and riding, in 2007, the brand new Trefle du Morvan was born. Comprising essenstially of woodland trails, the going is obviously similar to that of the 'Tour'. The big difference is that, while the 'Tour' has always been itinerant, the 'Trefle' (which means cloverleaf in French) is made up of three loops starting and finishing from the same hotel in Chateau Chinon. The downside is that you don't get to cover quite as big an area as on the 'Tour'. The advantage is that you don't have to pack up and move hotels every day. With an average of 170 kilometres per day, the new route has probably the highest percentage of off-road riding of any of our trips.
