LONG
DISTANCE OFF-ROAD MOTORCYCLING IN FRANCE
Sport Adventure was
set up in 1995 with the aim of organising fun but challenging off-road
motorcycle trail rides through France’s beautiful countryside. From
the start our intention was to offer not just great tracks, but also a
relaxed atmosphere, good food, friendly, traditional accommodation and
back up, that without being intrusive, was always there when you
needed it.
In the first
year we ran trail rides over just two routes, the Calais and the
Normandie, but were delighted with the enthusiastic response. Suitably
encouraged, the next year we added another two, slightly tougher
routes, the Burgundy and the Morvan that have proved equally popular.
ENDURO RACING IN
FRANCE
One of our greatest
pleasures is sharing what we like to do with others. So when we
started racing enduro it was only natural for us to put together a
turn-key racing/assistance package for the French ‘classic’
enduros. And when we say ‘turn- key’ we mean just that. All you
have to do is turn up with your bike and a jerry can and we take care
of all the rest – entries, assistance, accommodation…..
The dates and entry fees
have not yet been announced but if you’d like any further
information, to put your name down on a reserve list, or simply
discuss our assistance package with us in more detail, please don’t
hesitate to get in touch.
MOUNTAIN BIKING IN
FRANCE
To be honest when we
first decided to start riding mountain bikes we did so uniquely to
improve our pathetic fitness levels. But the more we did it the more
we liked it. For a start we saw stuff that we’d never noticed before
while out riding motorcycles, plus we really liked that feeling you
get of having taken some serious exercise! Now we are completely
hooked and so have decided to organise some mountain bike raids along
similar lines to our trail riding holidays.
To start with we are
using the same area as we use for the Normandie trail rides. Obviously
the distances aren’t as big (approx. 60 kms per day) and the tracks
aren’t all the same (what’s fun on a motorcycle isn’t
necessarily fun on an MTB and visa versa) but we will be using the
same system of road books and allowing everyone to go at their own
pace (and cut the course if they want!). More routes are planned for
the future.
SNOW-MOBILING IN
CANADA
What to do in when
it’s too cold and the ground is too hard to ride – go snow-mobiling
in Canada. OK, perhaps not the greatest piece of lateral thinking, but
the best we can manage. At the moment this project is in its infancy,
but the idea is to go at least once early next year - sometime in
February 2000. Since first suggesting the idea the response has been
encouraging and we are currently working out the details. If you’re
interested don’t hesitate to get in touch – more details will be
posted as soon as we have them.
Look forward to seeing you soon.
